Tears at Kittens Found ‘Starving to Death’ Under Shed

Users are hailing one Reddit poster as a hero after stepping in to save two kittens “starving to death” under the shed.

The Reddit user, Haplophyrne_Mollis, shared in a recent post on the subreddit channel r/cats that two kittens were found under a shed covered in mud and fleas. At the time, the kitties were about 3 weeks old.

One kitten, Nala, had severe conjunctivitis—inflammation or infection of the eye’s lining similar to pink eye in humans—caused by an upper respiratory issue leaving her unable to open her eyes. Luckily, this hero jumped in to rescue both Nala and her brother at the right time.

The veterinarian prescribed eye drops, antibiotic cream and antibiotics to help Nala’s conjunctivitis and ulcer in her eye they discovered. The rescuer has been bottle-feeding the two kitties with kitten milk replacement formula. After two weeks, the two kitties “perked up.”

The post shows Nala’s night-and-day transformation from when she was found to now and viewers are obsessing. Cleaned up and cared for, she looks like a new kitten with her eyes finally opened and full of life.

The poster added other photos in the comment section showing Nala and her brother snuggling together, comfortably resting knowing they have been saved.

“As much as I would love to keep them I already have too many cats!” the Reddit poster shared in the comment section. “They have homes patiently waiting for them to become strong enough… they are my first fosters and it was a real challenge to get them to be healthy.”

The poster already expressed concern about how hard it will be to say goodbye to the two tiny felines once they’re ready to go to their forever homes.
