Insiders close to Prince Harry say his rift with the Royal Family is growing, revealing he was kept in the dark about his father King Charles’s cancer battle. Reports suggest Harry’s calls, including those to his brother Prince William, have been ignored.
According to People magazine, the strained relationship between Harry and Charles has persisted for five years since Harry and Meghan Markle stepped down from royal duties. The last face-to-face meeting between father and son was a brief 30-minute encounter in February of the previous year.
Sources say Harry only learned of his father’s hospital admission on March 27 through the media, not directly from the family. Last week, Harry was in the UK for a hearing at London’s High Court regarding his fight for security protection while in Britain. His legal team argues that Harry, Meghan, and their children are not safe to visit the country.

Prince Harry’s legal battle regarding his security continues to unfold, with his barrister arguing that the prince’s life is at risk, especially after threats from groups like Al Qaeda. Harry claims that his security was unfairly removed in 2020 after he stepped back from royal duties, despite his high-profile status and significant earnings. The Home Office, however, maintains it has the discretion to revoke his security without consulting other bodies.
The case has added tension to his relationship with his father, King Charles. According to some sources, Harry feels strongly about fighting for his right to full protection.
Royal experts suggest that any involvement from Charles could complicate matters further, especially with the case now putting Harry in direct contact with those carrying out the King’s orders.

After last week’s hearing, Harry left the UK secretly, without informing Buckingham Palace, on Thursday. He then landed in Poland for a surprise visit to Ukraine. Accompanied by a police escort and former Ukrainian military personnel, he visited the Superhumans rehabilitation center in Lviv, where he met individuals, both adults and children, injured in the ongoing war.
This visit came shortly after William’s trip to a NATO base in Estonia, neighboring Ukraine. The brothers have grown more distant since Harry and Meghan stepped back from royal duties in 2019 and moved to the US.
Harry’s 2023 memoir, Spare, revealed details about their strained relationship, including a physical altercation between them and accusations against William. Harry also discussed his struggles with panic attacks and his past drug use.
